The Geneva Bible
The Bible that was translated in Geneva, Switzerland under the care of John Calvin and John Knox and the Bible that came with the Pilgrims to Massachusetts is finally back in print. Translated in 1560 and revised in 1599 this Bible reads more in modern English than the Authorized Version translated in 1611. What makes this Bible so unique is it’s footnotes. In a century when Christians were so ignorant of the Bible this Bible explained doctrines that they never would have learn in church. One of the reasons King James did not like this Bible was because of all the mentioning of tyrants and tyranny. After reading the scripture and footnotes you too can be inspired and motivated by a vision of victory that the Puritans and Pilgrims had.
