Cromwell

This is an excellent movie on the life of Oliver Cromwell.  He always started his day off with prayer and bible reading.  He seldom ever did anything without a text of scripture to support his decisions.  Cromwell became the Lord Protector of England in the 1650's.  This is based on the true story of how King Charles I was brought to trial for crimes against his country and sentenced to death.  It reminds us that the king is not the law but the Law is King.  The only English King ever to be brought to trial.  Oliver Cromwell wanted to establish a Constitutional Republic.  Intense and exciting this movie is fun for the whole family.  It's great to see something clean come out of Hollywood.

Martin Luther

I like this 1952 version better than the newer one.  This one has the character Martin Luther quoting lots of scripture.  In this version you will see Martin Luther debating  his protestant doctrines, his trial before the Emperor giving his "Here I Stand" speech and many other exciting adventures that Luther went through.  This video shows the providence of God directing his affairs and can give the you the same confidence that God is in control.

American Heritage Series

This series done by David Barton is the best proof of America's Christian beginnings.  I was blown away with the overwhelming evidence that the majority of our Founding Fathers were Christian.  If they were not Christians they at least had a Biblical world-view.  This should be seen by every Christian. It shows that history is on the side of the Christian.  That history is God's providence in human affairs.

The Indestructible Book

A marvelous tour through history about how God has preserved the Holy Bible.  In this two dvd set Ken Connolly takes you from B.C. time through the early church days into the reformation and finally how it got to the shores of America.  Ken takes you to the very spot where the events took place.  You get to see where everything happened as he walks around and narrates.   I watch this all the time.  I learn something new every time I watch it.

Time Changer

This movie did not have a big budget but it has a good message.  A professor goes into the future and sees the devastating effects of teaching morality without the authority of Jesus behind it.  It is real funny.  The professor goes back to his time in the 1890's to tell his colleagues that they must not write books or sermons that separate God and morality.  Fun for the whole family.

Fireproof, Facing the Giants and Flywheel

Get three great movies in one.  Fireproof is about a fireman that is about to get a divorce and learns from his dad about God and forgiveness.  A great movie showing the importance of humility in marriage and it also has a little Gospel message in it as well.  The other two are great Christian family movies that will encourage and uplift you.  Check it out.
