Prophecy proves the Bible

Men of God foretold that Jesus would die by crucifixion (Psalm 22), be born in the town of Bethlehem (Micah 5:2), be born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12-13), be buried in a rich man’s tomb (Isaiah 53:9), and His side would be pierced (Zechariah 12:10).  These and other prophecies were proclaimed 400 to 1000 years before Jesus ever walked the earth!  The chances that someone could randomly full-fill all 48 prophecies, as Jesus Christ did, would be 1 in 10x157.  Keep in mind there are about 10x80 atoms in the universe.

Scripture also predicted the rise and fall of great emperors in Greece and Rome (Daniel 2:39), and the destruction of Sidon and Tyre (Isaiah 23) carried out by Alexander the Great. (Zechariah 9:4, Ezekiel 26:12)  Jesus predicted that Jerusalem would be destroyed. (Matthew 24, Luke 21) in 70 A.D.

Prophecy must be 100% correct, not 99.9%, or it is not of God.

Archeological Evidence

Over 25,000 people, places, and events that are in the bible have been confirmed.  Nothing that has been found archeologicallydiscredits the bible.  Archeologists actually look at the bible for information before they go out on an excavating site because the bible can be trusted.

Science confirms the Bible

1.     The earth is round (Isaiah 40:22)

2.     The earth is suspended in space (Job 26:7)

3.     1st and 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (Isaiah 51:6)

4.     Light moves (Job 38:19, 20)

5.     Air has weight (Job 28:25)

6.     Blood is the source of life and death (Leviticus 17:11)

7.     Hands should be washed under running water (Leviticus (15:13)

8.     Winds blow in cyclones (Ecclesiastes 1:6)

9.     Ocean floor contains deep valleys and mountains (2 Samuel 22:16, Jonah 2:6)

10.  Ocean contains springs (Job 38:16)

The bible was written 2000-3000 years ago in a time when people had no way of knowing any of these things.  These and many other examples prove the bible is inspired by God, the only One to have known such things!

Has the Bible been changed?

No.  The New Testament translations we have today are based off manuscripts from the 2nd and 3rd centuries, some just over 35 years of the writer’s death.  Over 24,000 ancient New Testament copies are available and they all agree with each other.  The Dead Sea Scrolls, found in 1949, date from 3rd century B.C. to 1st century A.D., confirming the Old and New Testament prophecies and authenticity.
